A common problem the world faces today is that in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, health happens to take the backseat. And while a sedentary lifestyle may not seem to harm you in any noticeable way, it takes its toll on you in the longer term by making you prone to heart diseases, diabetes, and stroke. Regular exercise forms the stepping stone to good health and reduces the risk of obesity and diseases that come with it. As taxing as a fitness regime may sound, you’d only need to take small steps to kickstart one for you.

Start Small

An active lifestyle doesn’t mean sweating it out in the gym for hours, it could just mean walking around your block or just get moving from your office desk at regular intervals.

Track Time

You can begin by a jogging session of ten minutes around the park and extend the session to thirty minutes over time, mixing it with aerobics, walking etc. Experts suggest that three sessions of ten minutes are as good as one session of 30 minutes. An advanced fitness regime would definitely include more exercises but take precautions so as not to injure yourself trying to do too much in the initial stages.

Muscle it up

Aerobic training isn’t the only kind of exercise, you can also opt for strength training using weights. This type of training helps you improve your balance and coordination, while also strengthening your bones and muscles. You could take the help of a fitness trainer so as to know the correct forms and postures.

Stretch

Stretching is the most important part of any workout. Apart from making you more flexible and improving your range of motion, it also reduces the risk of muscle cramps and other injuries that may happen during workout. Moreover, it also plays a vital role in improving blood circulation in your body.

Make it fun

It is important to make workouts fun, or you are likely to get bored very easily. Make a fitness playlist to listen to while exercising, ask your friends to join, try new activities like aerobics to introduce change and keep momentum going.

Last but not the least, make sure you consult your doctor before you begin any exercising regularly. Play safe and stay nourished!
