When is World Vegan Day in 2022?

Every year, World Vegan Day is celebrated on the first day of November.

Why celebrate world vegan day?

World Vegan Day is a day to spread awareness about the vegan lifestyle.
If you're new to veganism, you can learn more about what veganism is, or if you're already vegan, it’s a great day to share your knowledge with others and show them how easy it is to make the transition.
Many people still don't know what veganism is and why it's important. That's why celebrating it and trying new things is so important!

What day is world vegan day?

World Vegan Day is observed all over the world on November 1st.
World Vegan Day was established in 1994 by Louise Wallis, then Chair of The Vegan Society in the United Kingdom, to commemorate—and celebrate—the 50th anniversary of both terms' coinage: "vegan" and "veganism".
The day brings awareness to the health benefits of veganism, the environmental impact our diets have on the planet, and the suffering animals endure to become animal products.

Why is world vegan day on November 1st november?

According to Louise Wallis, then Chair of The Vegan Society in the United Kingdom, the celebration was held on November 1st—coinciding with both Halloween and Day of Dead celebrations. She explained that she "liked the idea of this date coinciding with Samhain/Halloween and the Day of the Dead —traditional times for feasting and celebration, both apt and auspicious."

What can you do on world vegan day?

There's many ways to celebrate World Vegan Day. You can take the opportunity to plant a tree, host a vegan potluck, set up an awareness stall, volunteer at a farm sanctuary or animal shelter, learn a new vegan recipe, watch a vegan documentary, eat vegan for the day, and so on!

When is world vegetarian day?

All over the world, World Vegetarian Day is celebrated on October 1st annually.
The day was established in 1977 by the North American Vegetarian Society and later endorsed by the International Vegetarian union in 1978 to "promote joy, impassion, and life-enhancing possibilities of vegetarianism."
The day also begins the month of October as Vegetarian Awareness month to bring awareness to the ethical, environmental, health, and humanitarian benefits of a vegetarian diet and lifestyle. It ends on November 1st on World Vegan Day.
Vegetarian Awareness Month is also known as Reverence for Life month, Month of Vegetarian Food, and more!

What is the difference between vegans and vegetarians?

A vegan diet excludes all animal products and clothing derived from an animal for ethical, moral, and environmental purposes.
A vegetarian diet may include certain animal products like eggs and dairy for various reasons, including religious traditions.
